Looking for a bike for mostly road riding that is
more
sporty than the hybrids above? Have a look at the Trekking
bikes. Trekking cycles are
similar to mountain bikes, however they are fitted with narrower slick
tyres - making them more suitable for road riding, but still fine for
riding on gravel paths, tracks etc.

Hybrid cycles
Hybrid cycles are a cross between a traditional road and mountain bike.
The medium width tyres make them easier to ride on the road than a
mountain cycle, yet still suitable for use on gravel paths and tracks.
The only places not suitable for hybrid cycles are very muddy tracks
and shingle beaches etc. The handlebars are positioned high, are fully
adjustable up and down and usually as back and forth - no need to
suffer from back and neck ache again! Hybrid cycles are fitted with
full mudguards, making them ideal for commuters or the leisure cyclist
not wanting to be coated with mud! Racks are featured - useful for
carrying shopping and saving the need for hanging bags from the
handlebars!
